about the cornstock battle of the bands

BE THERE! ON-SITE VOTING WILL DETERMINE WHO WINS THE CASH PRIZES AND THE GRAND PRIZE TO BE THE OFFICIAL OPENING ACT AT CORNSTOCK 2027.

This year’s 2026 Cornstock event will look a bit different yet similar from what the attendees have experienced in the past. The “Cornstock Battle of the Bands” will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Lake Garnett. Attendees will participate in casting their votes for their favorite band to be crowned the Opening Act for the Saturday night of Cornstock 2027. This event showcases local and regional artists and musicians and will be limited to eight bands.  

  Gates to the concert area will open at 2 p.m. A Cornhole Tournament and other activities are being planned in conjunction with the friendly band competition providing a variety of genres of musical entertainment. Food provided by civic organizations and food trucks, and beer and beverages will be on site. New at the Battle of the Bands, there will be no beer/no beer area designation, allowing everyone their favorite viewing spot from the concert venue. The evening will conclude at approximately 10 p.m. with the announcement of the overall Battle of the Bands winners. Also, at least the top two bands receiving the most votes will also receive cash prizes. 

During the event, all fans will have the opportunity to meet and greet, and have their pictures taken with the bands at the entertainment merchandise tents. Sponsors will receive added perks to their sponsorship. Sponsorship information will be going out to past supporting sponsors while new sponsors are encouraged to join. A full schedule of the bands, activities and event details will be provided in the coming weeks.

   Tickets will go on sale for the Cornstock Battle of the Bands at the Earlybird discount rate of just $20 during the month of July only. Thereafter ticket price for the event will be $30. Kids 0-5 are free with an adult. There will be no charge for parking in 2026. Lastly, camping will be available through the City of Garnett Recreation campspot.com reservation weblink for $50 for the September 25-26 two-night stay.
